Trans-Nzoia County is a key agricultural county located in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya, nestled between the slopes of Mount Elgon to the west and the Cherangani Hills to the east. Its capital and main commercial hub is Kitale. The county is renowned for its vast, fertile lands and favorable climate, which make it one of the most important food-producing regions in the nation.

It is the country’s leading producer of maize and is also a critical center for seed production for various crops.
