Kwale is Kenya’s southernmost coastal county, bordering Tanzania. It is globally famous for the pristine Diani Beach, its primary tourist attraction, which is served by the commercial hub of Ukunda. The county’s economy is driven by tourism and large-scale titanium mining. Kwale is also a key conservation area, home to the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, celebrated for its dolphins and coral reefs. It is the traditional homeland of the Digo and Duruma peoples.
