Introduction
Wajir County is located in the former North Eastern Province of Kenya, with Wajir town serving as its capital and largest urban center. The county covers an area of 55,840.6 km² and had a population of 781,263 according to the 2019 census.
It is bordered internationally by Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the east. Domestically, it is bordered by Mandera, Garissa, Isiolo, and Marsabit counties.
