Introduction
Located in northwestern Kenya’s Northern Rift region, Turkana County is the country’s largest by land area. It is home to the Turkana people, and its capital and largest town is Lodwar.
The county shares international borders with Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia (including the disputed Ilemi Triangle) and is bordered domestically by West Pokot, Baringo, and Samburu counties.
